We've added Apple Pay, Google Pay and global tax assistance as well as other improvements on the checkout experience for a better shopping user experience for customers as well as increase sales for you.

We've revised the checkout process to create a better experience for your customers - as well as more opportunities to sell for your business. Here's what's new.

When you sell digital products your checkout process is an important time to earn trust from your customers. This could mean the distinction between a successful purchase and an abandoned cart. It should be simple and easy for your customers to make purchases as well as easy for you to establish.

In the spirit of achieving that aim We've implemented a number of exciting updates to the checkout flow on our websites as well as embedded checkouts.

Updates contain:

The new payment methods are: Apple Pay, Google Pay, and iDEAL

A streamlined, single-page checkout experience

A more robust and flexible upsell options available at checkout

Added global tax support

Let's get into the specifics!

Customers can now make purchases using Apple Pay, Google Pay as well as iDEAL

We've added support for three different payment methods. If you have Stripe linked to your account, users are now able to pay using Apple Pay, Google Pay, and iDEAL. ( Learn how to connect Stripe to your account .)

Apple Pay allows customers to save payment information by authorizing the payment using Touch ID. (Apple Pay is available for creators who use a specific domain , and will only show for customers using Safari as their browser. Keep an eye on us as we continue to broaden this service!)

Google Pay lets customers make payments using any debit or credit card linked to their Google Account. (It will only be available for those who are using Google Chrome as their browser.)

iDEAL can be described as a Netherlands-based payment method that allows customers to pay online by using their Dutch banking credentials.

An easy, one-page checkout experience

We've redesigned the checkout procedure in order to make it a user-friendly experience. Your customers can see more details about their purchase, quickly enter a coupon code as well as other information - all in one place.

More details about the product: Now it's crystal clear what a customer is planning to purchase -- whether it's the amount of lessons included in a course or the date of an upcoming webinar.

Customers are also able to select between plans(community subscription tiers, pay plans, monthly vs. yearly pricing) on the checkout page. Customers don't need to hunt around for where to enter a discount code.

Structured address collection: If you are collecting the addresses of your customers (for tax reporting and other uses ), now there's less typing required for the customer, and you get standardized information.

The account details are provided upfront.Your customers can be able to create or login to their account in the middle of their checkout. This ensures they won't forget to create passwords and are able to be able to access your information, community, and purchases. If you are using embedded checkouts on another site, your embeds are updated with the current checkout flow within the embed modal.

Upsells that are more powerful, flexible, and customizable when you check out.

It is an effective way to make bigger profits: offer your clients an exclusive discount for adding additional items to their purchase.

For example, let's say you offer an online design class. When customers pay for your course, you can provide your clients with registration to the upcoming live webcast with a discount. Customers are already purchasing something from you - what is it to offer the additional item on sale, too!

Show more information about the upsell product that's displayed and modify the text to the specific offer. You can:

Include a subtitle and a title to the upsell page.

Create a unique name and description to each product.

Dynamically show up to three products at the time of checkout. (If customers have already bought an item, they don't see it as an upsell offer. You are able to add as many products as you'd like to the upsell list.)
