Today we've got a video showing how you can quickly create interactive online courses from your existing eBooks. In contrast to traditional textbooks that have no interaction between students as well as no knowledge of who's reading it, creating a course from your eBook's content can create a completely interactive learning experience.

  • Make your static eBook into an interactive learning experience that includes video, discussions, downloads, and other content all included
  • Students are able to ask questions and participate in discussions with their classmates, right from within the classroom the course
  • You have full control over your content. That includes being able to implement updates and modifications as time goes forward.
  • Get valuable contact information for each person who takes your course, so you can contact people and continue to market to them

Best of all, the process only takes minutes. Go through the transcription below, or watch the video here to see how it's done.

Hello everyone! Miranda here from .

We are having a chat today on one my very favorite topics to discuss, which is how to turn your eBook into an online course. Now, this is very easy that it harms. However, the advantages are incredible!

Everyone is familiar with eBooks, and they're a really great way to distribute the content you want to share to your readers. You can make them however you like, put the entirety of your content it, and create a stunning appearance and get your content out to the world.

The issue is that there's any real interaction, which is why with a normal eBook... you put your energy and heart into getting that book ready however, once you've released it to the world, you're done. When it goes on sale and has a life of its own. This is really amazing when you want a lot of viewers to check out your blog posts. A lot of times, it's posted on the internet (lots of times it doesn't go anywhere, but that's a whole another story) It is read by people or share it. They email it, tweet it, it, post it however, you don't have the chance to engage with users who are viewing your content. The only thing you know is who those individuals are and have no way to reach the new viewers.

It's a matter of trusting people who find your ebook to independently reach out and come back to find your contact information, and then contact you. This is the issue that we aim to solve at .

So, imagine the following scenario. Instead of creating your PDF and transmitting it to the world to have an identity of its own - as you wait praying that you will get feedback from people who end up reading the document, what if things were different. If people wanting to gain knowledge from your material need to visit you? If they give you your email address to ensure that you can contact them again, and once they're there, they actually can contact you as well as engage with others in the course as well as to get a little bit more involved with your instruction, but actually learning your class.

This is what I'm going to show you how to accomplish.

The first thing to do is split our PDF into several smaller documents. If you've got an entire 40-page PDF, it's all one file, whether you're using the program you used to create your PDF initially or, if you're using a Mac, you can just select and drag the pages on your desktop, dividing the PDF into smaller ones. You can also use online tools that can be used, however instead of creating one huge PDF, we want to create multiple PDFs which each have one lesson's worth of material (maybe 4 pages, according to the file you have ).

One of the best online applications that can do this are splitpdf.com or smallpdf.com, but there are lots of online tools if you do a quick Google search.

After you've got all the PDFs in small size then we'll jump to the dashboard. You're going to go under "Courses" and then "Create and Edit" Then, make a course from scratch.

Once you've entered the name of the course and its price then you'll arrive here which is why we'll want to go to "quick creator". We simply click here to choose all the files we've created and start our upload. As it's uploading we can see everything pop up.

That's all there is to it! If I wanted to stop right here, I absolutely could. I can enroll students in my course, they sign in and take my class, I receive their email addresses, they view my content everything is fine. What's the problem? Why do I have to stop here?

We can turn this eBook course into an extremely engaging online experience that your students are going to enjoy and which is sure transform this course from only an eBook, to something that is so many more. This is what we're planning to do now.

Back in the system to the left side, I can choose to create more content and this is the area where it shines. Apart from all the PDF pages that are on the site, I'm able to create anything I'd like to including discussions, quizzes video files, downloads The list could go on forever.

I'm going to start with a discussion. which is why I choose to add, add an appropriate question and click save. That's it. Then I'm aware that my students have an opportunity to discuss the content they're viewing right in the class, alongside instructors and others students.

In the same way, I would like to add a video. I can click to upload a video, then make a caption then select to upload the video. Save, and it's completed.

On the left side, I am able to see that my video has come up, but I'd like to raise it to become the first thing students will see. So I click and drag it up to the top of the list.

Then, I create an downloads option that allows me to include additional worksheets (or any other kind of file). for students to download, straight from the class. Similar to other types of content it's super quick you just need to select it and you're done.

That's it! Then I'm now ready to review my class.

In my very first course. I have my chapters as well as lessons to the left. My video is in the center as well as my download resources that contain the files I need for my students are here, and I have the PDFs for all of the lessons that I have within my class. Finally, I have discussions so that students can communicate with me as well as others in the classes directly from their learning experience.

And, we're done! That really is the only thing you have to know about how to convert an eBook (which can be a static, uninteractive document it is also able to take off and develop life of its own), into an interactive course experience where students interact with your and also interact with each with each other. As an instructor, you have an ability to make changes and updates to your class over time Not just for updates to typos and similar issues, but to update information that will create a engaging educational experience for your students so they'll keep coming back.

The most important thing is that you know who is attending your class. If you have their contact details You can contact them about other stuff that you've created. If you provide coaching and consulting, you now have the option of advertising the products directly to your clients. You've already got the contact information for your audience which is valuable and will really make your business and you move forward.

I'm sure this has been a really excellent learning experience and I'm looking for the opportunity to see all the PDFs that people are creating into full courses.

Do not hesitate to send us a note if there's anything at all we can help to assist you! Cheers.
