the wonder jam

Wonder Jam Wonder Jam is "a family of brands that assist small, innovative businesses to grow" as per the lyrics immortalized by Daft Punk hard faster, quicker, and better and effective. One of the companies, Wonderly, builds websites that feature visual branding as well as software to manage subscriptions to help customers "set their business from the rest". I spoke to director of the company Allie Lehman and developer Matt Hart to get more information.

Fine art and free-lance work that are absolutely free

"My specialization involves Fine Arts. I was a child who was involved in many drawings and art activities as well as oil paintings" starts Allie Lehman. "At high school I was fortunate to have a wonderful art teacher whowas funny, and said that I could be graphic designer or illustrator even though I didn't know what the distinction was between the two careers! I chose to study graphic design and went on to college to pursue it."

Allie quit during the downturn in 2009, to join Web Hosting Support. "It was pretty stressful, however, I did learn a lot about servers and the processes of how WordPress was created, and all things connected to web hosting," she remembers. "In 2013 I launched The Wonder Jam, now The Wonder Jam is our parent company. I quit my job as a designer and began the company full-time."

She'd worked together with Matt Hart for a couple years at this point. Matt was a webmaster and she would design websites for the websites. At this point they began to work together frequently: "We've been working together since the past 10 years at first as freelancers. It was a natural collaboration. We now focus on businesses that provide services as well as the development of WordPress web pages." Allie adds.

Matt begins: "I do primarily WordPress development. The method was taught to me by myself in the early 2010s. A lot of users were browsing the WordPress website and thinking"We must create CSS in order that this theme will use the right colours'. This quickly became boring!" He laughed. Then, when page building tools like Beaver Builder and Elementor came in They were able to discover a few options: "We could do things by creating a custom-made approach that is geared to the specific requirements of our customers, which was a huge hit with our innovative part."

From the very beginning of their relationship, Allie and Matt have always been focused on "going to the custom market in a way which costs less" in the sense that Matt claims: "We do only what customers want, and we don't accept projects from clients that they aren't interested in. Our clients have a genuine interest in the work: they're not seeking to portray this as something that's a mysterious affair. They are looking to have confidence. Through these tools we can achieve that."

Allie states: "In 2013, I started The Wonder Jam with my husband following my time as doing freelance work on my own. We could hire Matt as an independent developer contractor. We wanted to work and conduct the way we wanted to, and we wanted the flexibility to operate in a manner that is "free of constraint." This is how Wonder Jam was born.

Support, soils, and systems

"We reside in Columbus, Ohio and it's an extremely friendly and welcoming neighborhood for small business," she continues. "Matt visited our city and us after his arrival to Columbus from Seattle and we started working with local clients. We would walk down the main avenue and take a look at each business we've collaborated with." In 2020, which was seven years after joining The Wonder Jam and as The Wonder Jam began expanding across the United States, they became The Wonder Jam's parent company. The Wonder Jam is now comprised of three brands each of which is a related brands.

Wonderly focuses on service-based businesses that include authors, nonprofits along with chefs, fitness instructors, and cooks. The brand also has its own Basis which is focused on the retail industry and also those offering products, along with a company known as Studio Wonder, an events space and photography studio located in Columbus.

Three brands which offer the ability to express creativity in a variety of ways: "It allows our team to focus on what they truly want to accomplish and the procedures specific to each company that need to follow," Allie says. "Because Matt and I started working together from the very beginning and we've more than last decade of process behind us. There are photos from the year 2017 that show us using whiteboards for every stage of our procedure to ensure that our clients have a clear understanding of the process.

"The Wonder Jam operates as the "soil" to supply all the necessities for small-scale businesses to run its business, and each sister brand is given the ability to "produce every one in its particular way, and to come up by utilizing the options that pop out. This allows these routes to be clear and free of the obstacles which make it difficult to be either a one or two-person company," Matt continues. "We are a collection of companies that can support one another."

For instance, Basis, for example, Basis brand is focused on Shopify as well as e-commerce. However, every once in some time, customers want to begin blogging and build something far more robust than what Shopify provides. This is why Wonderly comes in to help users of the base platform with steps that pertain to WordPress. "We can communicate with each with each other and collaborate regardless of whether we possess the capability of specialization, and in a way that's attractive to people who use it," he smiles.

"The Wonder Jam sits as an enabler. There is no one in the higher echelons to inform us about who we should cooperate with or what amount of money to earn. it is up to the executive partner to choose," says Allie. Brands have shared features of the software for managing projects and service for clients. Each managing partner can to make a reservation for a project. All members of the group then take part in the project and oversee everything back-end admin, including the invoices and contracts.

"It can help people such as Matt and me focus in focus on the job at hand." Allie smiles. "I believe that we've built an ideal environment for working within. It's all about making sure that our clients have excellent experience. We can be reached via email and you will receive quick responses and being assisted by our staff."

Matt agrees: "We say we don't design for you, rather we work in collaboration with you. We're not going to head away for two months to make something completely on our own. We have a lot of meetings, and they'll see the process from start all the way to the conclusion. This is not going to each studio and creating things all independently!"

Contexts and Clients

Matt and Allie have been working with various organizations that require the website to be available in a variety of ways. "Some of our clients are not-for-profit entities. They are extremely robust websites. They're most likely to be complex or exist for quite long. It is common to trim or consolidate the websites to make them easier to navigate," Matt explains.

"We're as well working with people that want to create membership sites to promote their companies, for instance those working in the field of food," Allie continues. Wonderly's clients tend to be people who do human-service-oriented work: "They're fighting for equality, they're looking to talk to their audience a little differently. We often partner with individuals who've put a significant amount of money, passion and energy into their business," she adds.

Wonder Jam Wonder Jam brands collaborate with all sorts of organizations, from national firms to local companies as well as solo entrepreneurs who are making the move into full-time work from part-time work. "We've created methods that satisfy both of these needs. We're figuring out the most effective scales, as well as the things you should consider differently regardless of the scale is different. This is a lot of fun to discover!" Matt is laughing.

He continues "With the nonprofits, they typically already have a base and created all legal hurdles that they have to cross. It's how we make it feasible as we're not trying to start afresh." The charity will revisit what they've experienced and determine the factors that might make donors donate, and then smooth that process.

The beginning stages of the partnership , and each customer is treated equally regardless of their business or the nature of the site The Wonder Jam team talks about the methodology of customer service. "A website is an asset that can be very effective when it comes to making your first purchase. But it can also be extremely efficient in convincing customers to return, or being useful. One of the questions we ask ourselves is "Is this a profit-maker, or can it be effective in attracting the loyalty of the VIPs? They are among the most important people for small-scale businesses?" Allie explains.

Matt and Allie Both agree that online sites should not try to please everyone. that's why it's essential to take a step back and think about the way your site is designed. "Whenever you're developing a membership website, the most crucial thing we're considering is to ensure that our customers to continue coming back continue to visit frequently, and to feel that they've had the best experience they've had," Matt adds.

Research on the case: Simi and Molly

Allie begins: "One of our clients, Simi Botic, has an exercise regimen as well as a membership with Unmeasured which is focused on movements in the entire body. This program is called"the Barre Method. Simi Botic is a believer in the open perspective of "Just move , and don't try to penalize the body. There's a myriad of possibilities based on mobility and flexibility of the body."

When Simi first discovered Wonderly the site there were only videos of a few that changed each week. "It makes it easier to keep the site efficient, and also allows her to be able to combine her schedule,"" Allie confirms. "After about two to three years of operating The membership was increased and gave her the opportunity to provide more service for her clients that is simply fantastic. We're extremely pleased to have the ability to change as our clients' needs alter. We're only reexamining our design and are making minor changes to implement during the process of development."

Another customer, Molly Baz, wanted to alter her website to be more distinct and evocative. "Her brand's visual identity is flexible and unique from her. She wanted to let her fans follow her in such a way. She sent them recipes and news along with everything else they are familiar but in a way that was authentic and unique in her fashion." Allie explains.

As we all know, Molly's online presence is becoming increasingly important for her. "To have the ability to arrange the website with a style that's consistent with her style, and shifting the website from "Oh there's an image of Molly and you can buy her cookbook' to something significant both inside as well as out of membership. This is a huge benefit" Allie muses.

"Something we've been trying to do with our customers is to think about what the possibilities are for them when they're not talking to us every day. We're sure that they've adequate systems in order to use our software that we've designed specifically for customers such as those. Molly's tale is a great illustration of that." Matt agrees.

More information is available, as well as the future plan

Matt and Allie are working on organizations and sites that need "a significant amount of accessibility" for users with disabilities. "We're working with some really impressive companies who are working to create websites that are prototypes which are adopted by this group of users."

They've generally had many luck regarding their clients "It's incredible to remain working with such great people. They're extremely thoughtful and they always make us feel valued," Allie concludes. "We enjoy the privilege of being able to work with fascinating people who's values influence their decisions. It's a pleasure that we can create things that can be appreciated by others," Matt smiles.
