Survive the perfection phobia: Take lessons from the makers of content

Oct 14, 2022

We've likely all had someone who was unable to complete their task because they thought every aspect needed to be perfect. But, perfection doesn't exist (truly). As a result, projects are left unfinished in their computer or studios. Some might consider it a waste of time since it is impossible to appreciate what the designer created.

Perfectionionism can be a major obstacle for both entrepreneurs and creators. Based on a study by the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, perfectionism is associated with "feelings of failure, guilt and indecision along with procrastination humiliation, and feelings of lower self-esteem." It is the reason why many it is difficult for people to move forward in their work or projects - this is called the"perfection paralysis.". How can you get over this?

The process of letting go of perfection and revising to a more actual standard of what is acceptable to share can be a challenge. In order to help you get there, we asked two expert professionals to discuss their own experiences to overcome the fear perfectionism during a virtual summit in the month of August in 2022. You can watch the video here:

Before we begin to unravel the mysteries, it is important to know our panelists:

Why is it that why people strive for perfection?

How have you overcome the perfection phobia?

Digital products don't need to be flawless, but they must still be at an acceptable standard to make sales. What can an artist do to adjust their expectations towards the level of quality which will benefit their company and brand?

Grace states:

"Consider - does it reflect the content quality and education that you're going to provide? Does it convey a convincing account of the content you're going to provide? And then of course you must ensure that you're editing it and that it has excellent videos and audio. Everything that is likely to aid in making the experience for the user as high quality as possible.

This is more crucial than everything, just going further. You don't need a top-quality production team to create a great video. You can make a great video using your iPhone. Be sure to ensure that there's no background and that the audio quality is excellent.

What's the first step for a creator of knowledge to aid them in creating the first digital item?

   Steve says:

"I discover that lots of entrepreneurs are caught up in their message and they're not looking at the market. It's important to consider whether there is there a market for my product or service? How can you identify if there's an audience for your message?

It's quite simple to ask certain questions like:

  1. What's the problem that my words or passion for solving can help solve?
  2. Who is the source and why do we need the solution?
  3. Who are the employees working for you?
  4. How do you find them?
  5. What can they do to be able to
  6. What is the amount they have?
  7. What is the reason someone should come to you instead of the millions of other options that are readily available?

will help you to get your knowledge out into all the globe (finally!)
