For most service-based businesses, passive and leveraged income-generating products are a gorgeous concept, however there's a myriad of mental and emotional concerns that may arise while making the leap into this area. First, there's the misconception that passive income is the most lucrative kind of income. Sure, you get to earn money while you sleep and go for a stroll on the beach. It's true, there's no need to offer it for sale to me.
However, what if you truly care about the people who are purchasing your program? How would you feel if you weren't adamant about going on a trip to the beach but rather, you'd prefer to remain in the area, hold hands, ask questions, and genuinely SUPPORT your customers through the program?
Is that a sign of the wrong professional?

Myself, I don't even believe it's part of my genetics to create true passive income. My first ever real passive income product was a year-long planner designed for entrepreneurs and was just $19.98. The first time I launched it I was able to sell 170 copies which were amazing. I then proceeded to start emailing and messaging the buyers to check if that they had filled it out and to see how they liked it and if they had any suggestions and to offer suggestions on how to maintain it all year long.
It is not an investment product with a passive income. In fact, I probably spent over 10 hours CHASING the people who bought it to discover their thoughts and to help them use it!
Then, one year later, I released the Heart and Soul planner again in the latter half of the year of 2015. It was this time with two live group workshops one in which I led people through the pages through the pages, asking questions and providing suggestions, and a second workshop where I helped participants develop their own implementation strategy so that the planner doesn't turn into a dust-catcher.
Through transforming my non-profit product into leveraged product I realized a variety of benefits for seller and buyer alike:
- I felt more CONNECTED to the people who purchased and I could make sure that people got excellent value. This was wonderful to me, and also good for them.
- I came up with a TRIBE. it was a live conference together and participants were interacting with one others, cheering one another on and providing suggestions and ideas. The focus was not on divide and take over - it was about uniting and be connected.
- People were able to KNOW my name - which meant that my KLT (know and trust) factor skyrocketed.
- The conversion to higher-end product was awe-inspiring - on the 256 ladies who bought this time around three have become VIP customers fourteen have joined one of my programs and 20 have joined my business academy within just six months. This conversion is expected to continue all through the year, I am sure.
So the next time you're contemplating and planning your next program, course or product, give a idea of creating something that is more connected, and more active. Sure, you might have be more consistent in your work a bit more consistently.
