What is Course Content Dripping?

Everyone has had those times... in which you've watched the entire TV series over one weekend, staying up all night turning pages after pages of a brand new novel or waking up to realize that you've eaten a whole bag of chocolate chip cookies... completely by yourself ().

Although a treat might be appealing at first, it often leaves us feeling unfulfilled afterward.

Learning could be the exact way. When students take in excessive amounts of information at once It can cause:

  • anxiety: Worrying they missed something important or made mistakes.
  • regret: Wishing they had spent more time taking the time to grasp the subject.
  • Doubts: Questioning if they actually comprehended the information.
  • Insanity: You feel overwhelmed by too much information at once.

These aren't feelings you want students to feel following the completion of your course.

This is where course the content drips in!

Instead of giving your students everything in one go, teaching content drips allow you to release information at regular intervals. This approach helps them take their time with each lesson, keep them engaged and learn better.

What Difference Will Content Dripping Make for Your Course?

1. Learn One Step at a Time

Instead of giving students access to all the material at once, Dripping allows each lesson or module in a specific arrangement, helping them build their knowledge gradually.

This method is designed to help students to feel a sense the progress they have made and their accomplishments throughout the course.

Think about your lesson as a literal staircase where each step represents an entirely new concept. The students must learn the basics prior to moving on to the next. This ensures they are able to grasp fundamental concepts before they can tackle the more complex ideas.

2. Engage students and keep them Engaged

Students are informed that new content is coming frequently, they are able to build enthusiasm and curiosity. The anticipation helps keep them interested and they're looking forward to the next lesson or module.

They get used to making time aside for every new class, which will increase the chance that they'll remain in the loop and remain committed to the program from beginning until end.

3. Provide Content at the Right Time

Course content dripping gives the full freedom to choose when and how the lessons are published to ensure they are in perfect alignment in your program.

Whether you're introducing a tricky concept that needs a little extra attention or gearing up for an task that takes more time, content dripping allows you to adjust the delivery of your material to meet the requirements of your students as well as your course goal.

4. Aid Everyone to learn at the same pace

Dripping of course content is an efficient method to keep everyone's students progressing in a consistent manner and ensure that no student gets ahead too quickly or lags in the middle.

By releasing content at carefully scheduled intervals, you can create an atmosphere of education that's cohesive, that allows everyone to progress with each other.

5. Let Learning be Relevant and Managable

The learning process should be one that students can enjoy, not a stressful process. When the entire course is presented in one go, it can create unnecessary stress and anxiety.

Course content dripping offers a more student-friendly approach with lessons delivered in smaller and manageable chunks.

Instead of having to learn everything all at once, students can take in knowledge at their own rate, thereby making the process more individual and attainable.

When you break up the material, you also create feelings of accomplishment for your students when they finish each section. This steady progression helps maintain their interest and keeps students motivated to keep the learning process.
