What's your history?
"My name is Sylvia Boomer Yang. I am an illustrator, animator, and GIF artist who is based in Brooklyn, New York. As part of my job as an artist I design animations, motion graphics as well as storyboards to explainers for videos and applications. However, what I truly enjoy doing on the side is to make funny and fun animated graphics and stickers that can make anyone smile and help them be themselves."

"I grew up in Taiwan and started with high school for fine art when I was little. I always enjoyed drawing, however, I was eventually stifled in a strict education style. I felt like I was unable to express my personality and voice through the conventional methods in art. Learning about fine art definitely helped me to build the foundation for where I am now."

"I went to design in college, and then moved to New York for grad school. That's when I began experimenting with digital animations as well as animation. Animation gave me the power to combine motion and illustration to tell a story in a dynamic way. I really enjoyed discovering how to bring still images to life."

What would you say about your style of animation?
"I often love to express myself with fun, vibrant and quirky designs. It is my belief that smiling is an excellent way of evaluating your work. "

What's the secret in creating your animation graphic?
"I enjoy working with a a sense of humor plus emotional energy that helps people feel connected, exploring different media as well as creating an original style of design. Making designs can be a lot of enjoyable!"

"Collaboration/teamwork is one of the keys I evaluate a lot. I like how individuals generate ideas in the group, and I believe that great work usually is built by a group of people with distinct strengths and abilities.
Everyday, I'm not going to stop making things that make me feel inspired. When not designing motion graphics, I can be found making a messy mess around the house (lots of cooking) as well as making craft projects. I often go to Brooklyn market and try my hand with various ingredients at home. The world is filled with amazing things. I am a sucker to travel and explore diverse communities, cultures as well as innovative art."
