A new function of Member that we're excited about around HQ is the triggers for membership levels and the ability to trigger actions (think Zapier). The big benefit of this new function is that it automates several of the most difficult aspects of your membership process- saving you both time and headaches.

What you'll find is:
The first step is to select an "Trigger" (an event in the Member that will kick off and trigger an "Action" (that that you pick). The trigger we'll be using is "Added on this Level" trigger in our illustration.
If an added member joins to this level of membership This Trigger will fire and our Action will be performed.

How can you benefit from this?
Here's a simple illustration...
Imagine that you provide a free trial membership. The members can sign up freeand have access to only a portion of your membership . They can be enticed to upgrade to the full membership.
If they do upgrade, you want them to be removed from your trial membership. With this new feature Here's how to do it:
- Go into the settings for the full level of membership.
- Create a new action
- Select "Added to this Level" as the Trigger
- Select "Remove the item from Level(s)" as the Action
- Choose the Trial level in the "Levels" dropdown
- Set the timer for "After 0 Days"
The settings you choose will appear like this:
Select"Add Action" or click the "Add Action" button, and you'll have your action highlighted in the "Actions" table for this membership level:
And, that's it.
Now, any time one of your free trial members upgrade to an actual membership, they'll be removed from the trial phase, creating a seamless user experience.
That makes you look nice.
And, will help with retention of members.
Which is how you GROW your membership over time.

This feature also supports custom post types -- in case you would like to differentiate the coaching pages of your clients from your regular posts and pages:
