Creativity runs in the family for the illustrator and artist Kentaro Yoshida. His mother, too an artist, has been a major influence in his work, even when she was not entirely happy of his professional choices. "First she disagreed with me being a full-time artist. I think she knew that it was difficult because of her own experience. However, I decided to give the idea a shot and, thankfully did not fail," Kentaro says. "She has been the main motivation in my life."

Kentaro was born in the village of a fishing family located in Toyama, Japan, but was able to move to Australia aged 18 where he now lives in Sydney. Since then and subsequent success, Kentaro has built a full-time freelance career as an artist, selling prints, custom painting murals and surfboards, and working with big brands as well as musicians.
