At the age of Jeremy Cohen was just 15 years old, a trip for the family to Yellowstone National Park unexpectedly sparked his love of photography.

"My dad bought me a digital point-and-shoot camera," Jeremy shared with . "My sister began taking pictures with it and I thought that they were cool, so I wanted to give it a go. I shot a number of pictures of nature and it inspired me to enroll in the film photography class in my high school for an elective after I arrived back to my home town."

That early curiosity to capture the world around him set the tone for his journey to becoming a professional photographer. Starting with the Quarantine roof culture series, to the daily Today I Photographed portrait project, Jeremy went on to make use of his camera to "uplift and amplify untold depictions of the human condition." People took notice: Jeremy has built an audience of over a million people on social media and has been able build a successful freelance career.

Pivoting to freelance with a website

This strategy worked: "I started to get employed for a few small jobs as I gradually progressed to eventually go full time as a photographer freelance."

"I have multiple uses for my website ," Jeremy says. "It's my primary portfolio that allows visitors to look through the absolute most impressive of my work, whether it's personal projects, client workor other miscellaneous photos."

A website can also help to build the trust of freelancers. "In my experience," Jeremy says, "a solid website is imperative to any photographer who wants customers to believe in them."
