With an international workforce of over 300,000. Stellantis - maker of brands like Peugeot, Fiat, and Chrysler - knows the importance of scaling just about everything. "We rank among the top five automotive manufacturing companies in the world." states Phil Price, Head of The Performance Academy, Stellantis. "As the learning and development field grew, we quickly realized that it's focused on what we could offer our employees to increase their efficiency." So, The Performance Academy was established.

In the capital city of cars of England The folks from The Performance Academy produce thousands of hours of educational content to Stellantis employees - but in order to keep up with the ever-growing number of employees they required a repeatable method of sharing details with employees across the world. "We've been spending a lot of time analyzing the ways people would like to learn," says Phil. "Video-based instructional technology will be the norm in the near future."

An active part of the community for over an decade, the group has always recognized the importance of videos. This is why Stellantis has shifted their focus on in-person training to a fully online strategy. "With face-to-face training, you have to replicate it 10 times with an additional cost of 10," he says. "With video, there is no limit."

Learning without limits

"We have, typically, 350 hours worth of content available each weekly period," notes Phil. "Behind the 350-hour period, we've have tens of thousands of hours worth of content that we've established and developed over the last 12 years."

This catalog of content allows employees to be trained what they want to learn at the times and places that work for their needs. "Our classes are available 24 hours a day," he adds. "That's crucial, as we have people who do it on their own time since they're aware it's going to enhance their performance."

Powerhouse Productions

Now, The Performance Academy is expanding to live streaming on a daily basis, from sales trainings to communications at the board level. To pull it off, The Performance Academy has been investing in its production team, operating as a mini Hollywood studio in the heart of Coventry, England.

"Look at where we're right now," says Phil. "We're within our own studio. We're in our own ability to animate an overlay, perform any task we'd like to. Anything you could see in a movie, is now possible to do with The Performance Academy."

Partners for growth

Today, with the help of professional production tools and a crack team of L&D specialists, The Performance Academy uses to create, host and share their works. "As the development and learning sector has grown, it has continued to develop their delivery strategies, methods, and reporting," says Phil. "We've greatly benefited from this."

" as an organization is thinking about, 'How do we make this work great and give it to an customer?' One of the advantages we work with is that we're in control," notes Phil. "It's a testament to scaling, the right partners, appropriate team members, and the right vision for how the future looks like."
