"My name is Marc David Spengler, I'm 25, and currently reside in the suburbs of Stuttgart, Germany. Since I was a little youngster, I've enjoyed drawing a lot. I can remember that when I was in 5th grade, I made a note that one of my goals was to be a car designer. In the next few years at the age of 12 I was introduced to the art of graffiti which has been an enormous inspiration source for me for the rest of my life.

What is the reason artists choose to use geometric forms?

I'm no longer an artist doing real graffiti today however I'm still observing geometric forms every day via magazines, social media and even books. When I finished school in 2014, I began learning about in communication designs at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and am currently studying today in the class of Patrick Thomas.

Apart from my studies and research, I'm also working on exhibits along with brand collaborations as well as my sketchbooks. In terms of my illustration style I'm generally working with abstract geometric shapes and vibrant colour palettes that attempt to blend into a self-given frame. The goal of every illustration which I'm working on is to bring harmony.

What is geometric art?

In order to create geometric art I'm not doing draw with pencil beforehand which is why a large portion my drawings are imagined. I like to start working from the outside, creating a silhouette of the background, and then I imagine what might be happening on the inside. Therefore, I'm always reacting to my previously sketched shapes and this makes the process intriguing for me as I don't even know what it's going to look like when it's finished.

I like making smaller geometric designs because I get a better overview of the composition and tend not to overdo it with numerous specifics. When drawing, I love to play with the given parameterslike creating the illusion of shadows or an optical illusion because everything is possible within the 2-dimensional realm."
