     We've changed the settings for community notifications to improve the user experience (and fewer email messages). Here's what's new.

What's the most effective way to let members know about the happenings within your neighborhood?

It's crucial to let your members about exciting discussions and encourage participants to take part in further discussions . But, it is also important to provide them with the capability to manage their experience and prevent notification over-saturation. We also heard from our founders that it is essential it is that you find the perfect balance.

The most recent version of the community feature which lets you and your customers get more control over notification messages. This means that there are more conversations, less flooded with emails, and a community platform that will bring both of you closer to each other.

Create your own notification settings as a creator member

Members of the community and creators have the option of choosing the notifications they'd like to receive for the same subject post that is new, new replies to posts you've made or new responses to your posts.

Once you have logged into an online community as an individual member, head to Settings, then click on "Edit" in the Notifications. (Creators can locate this feature within the Notifications tab in your account Settings.)

There are a variety of groups you follow. Just check or uncheck the boxes that control the kinds of notifications you would prefer to receive on the specific subject.

As an example, you could wish to receive notifications for blog posts, comments, and replies in a time-sensitive topic such as Live Events as well as Announcements. In other areas it is possible to only receive announcements when the author publishes the post, or turn off notifications for the subject completely.

You can also turn notifications on and off by pressing "Mute ALL" as well as "Unmute All".

Additionally, you are able to change the preferences you want for notification for each topic by accessing Your "All topics"page as well as on a specific topic page. Select the bell icon following which you will be able to alter your preference for notification preferences.

Set default notifications for a topic

Creators can also opt to set up standard notifications to each subject in your community. This will give you more control over user experience.

Instead of sending out notification emails to your subscribers for each blog article, it's possible to select the subjects your members get notified about and the types of emails they will receive.

Here's how:

From the Community tab on your dashboard, select "All subjects". After that, choose the "..." following topic that you'd like to modify and then click "Edit the subject". Then, select your settings for notifications under "Default Notifications".

Users can alter these notification settings at any point to their accounts. If they haven't modified their settings, then they'll default to the options created by the creator of each subject.
