 If I could pick just one term that represented my style of drawing I would choose 'Spring'.

I'd like for people to view my artwork and feel that they are blooming themselves, like a warm spring of flowering blooms.

Cottagecore is my lifestyle that I have chosen and believe in. The reason might be that I reside in Seoul, a big city which is why I appreciate nature and the countryside much more than what I see every day.

So rather than spreading intensity instead, I prefer to express a peaceful and tranquil mood, like what I observe in the natural world.

 What is the key for creating illustrations?

In the beginning, I'd like to discuss my favorite things I find motivation in. My focus is on the joy from the smallest things. The blooms I find in a garden, the whispers of flowers fluttering when the wind blows or even a tiny flower at the corner of a street I see while walking.

I work mainly inspired by tiny wildflowers. Landscapes that are natural from botanical encyclopedias and rural landscapes are also a source of inspiration. I keep a large amount of content through pictures and often take notes about colored pencil art ideas.

Let's discuss how I work. I sketch to the degree of intricate details, like real flowers and I communicate my thoughts with the use of color.

I use sharp colored pencils that precisely depict the form of the bloom. I then set a soft and warm mood by making use of pastel tones instead of bright colors.

It is also my preference to put simple and rough paper by using the technique of paper flowers to create an impression of blooming flowers.

Instead of drawing just for fun instead, I believe that creating papers with flowers can create a more beautiful atmosphere. This is a closer translation of my imagination.

My name's Yeo Jin and I'm an artist with a colored pencil. illustrator and writer based in Seoul. My work is based on flowers as they always bring me happiness!

My publications include six colored pencil tutorial books. I've also worked with various brands to illustrate. I currently give lectures to students of drawing and have also created products are sold on the internet and in local shops.
