Collage collages with minimal design - CreativeMindClass Blog

The other day, I caught Olga posting stories on Instagram of my childhood neighborhood. In Warsaw's concrete jungle, there is a lesser-known, sacred green area. I used to go there in the summer to stare at gorgeous old pines and breathe in the fresh air of nature within my urban lungs. In her account, Olga visited this area for the first time but she was also fascinated by one of the oldest backyards of Warsaw. It is my bet she'll paint an inspired Boernerowo painting.

We inquired with Olga about the key to designing her minimalist collages as well as paintings of human-shaped landscapes

"My Name is Olga Szczechowska, and I'm living in Warsaw. From the time I was a youngster, I've been drawing and painting a lot. I attended an art school in high school. I also studied painting as well as Cultural Studies at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun.

I'm a painter, illustrator, and sometimes graphic designer. In my practice, I focus on the relationship between humans and nature, carefully observing the way we create nature in our own backyards. When I look at hedges that have been trimmed, decorative plants, and carefully designed gardens for homes I'm trying to capture the strange beauty of the surroundings around us."

"For some time, I've made minimalist collages. The compositions are in the form of landscapes and still life, or are developed as a result from explorations with textures, shapes, and colours.

My style is heterogeneous since collage and painting differ in many ways, however they do have something in common: they are soothing. I have heard this term often from my fans I believe it is an accurate description of the essence of my art. If I am tired of painting, I create collages, and vice versa. The one style serves as an escape from the one.

I think observation is key. I pay attention to everything around me: architectural structures, nature, as well as objects. The result is my art. Through my work, you are not able to see the person, but you can feel the sense of humans in the hedges that are trimmed or in a mug that is left on the table."
