Did you have a look at the latest news coming from Articulate in the last few days?

They've added major improvements to their products by introducing the new Articulate 360. The entire strategy of their brand has been reorganized around the same underpinning.

If you're a huge fan of Articulate (or maybe previously a client of their software) You might be wondering what exactly this means.

Let me first clarify: Storyline still looks to as their main product under the brand name "Storyline 360". It looks to be updated with some new capabilities too.

They also still offer Studio (now branded under the new name "Studio 360").

They have also introduced a brand new feature to the line of products, known as Rise. This brand new authoring tool is focused on user-friendliness and being able to adapt for mobile devices and making use of a minimal approach.

Also, Replay 360 (a video creating & editing tool) along with Peek (a screencasting app), and Preso (an iPad app for making informal courses from slideshows created in PDF).

I believe I have read that there's an upcoming Articulate Live offering, which is a webinar series for Articulate 360 customers that will teach latest e-learning techniques and trends that use Articulate solutions.

There is the Content Library with over 100,000 digital assets that can be used for courses.

Wow... it's a lot going on.

What does this mean for you?

Like Articulate they provide a wide range of tools that could be used to accomplish different tasks related to e-learning and task-related learning. The biggest difference though is the fact that they do not offer various pricing levels.

Articulate 360 is subscription based.

If you'd like continue using Articulate 360, you must be able to pay $999 annually. Articulate 360 line of products will require you to pay $999. It is of course for Adobe's subscription-based pricing system.

It also signifies that you're now equipped with different tools to use.

"Do Everything" Approach "Do Everything" Method

It's a good time for Articulate. Previous offerings created confusion and often were not well-organized. The subscription program aims at making that change and transform Articulate the "one stop store" to all things associated with e-learning.

Each component must be flawless in order for the entire offering to show value. If one element is not working, and alternatives aren't easily achieved due to the closed ecosystem it's going to be an extremely long and difficult journey.

It's not yet able to say about whether the fresh perspective of Articulate is worth the investment, however, I will affirm that the past has proven that the company makes certain commercially savvy choices in the market for e-learning.

The future will be revealed.
