May 9, 2022

Paul Choi is a Senior Community Manager here at . The spotlight is now turned over to him via our blog, to spotlight his contribution to a important time within Asian American and Pacific Islander history, and other things!

What can you tell us about the work you perform here at ?

In our Community group, we oversee The Hero Community and other community -driven initiatives and sources. Our team's vision is to help connect people around the globe and help our Heroes to succeed in their entrepreneurial endeavors through community programs and resources.

What's an accomplishment in your career that you are particularly happy about?

How has your cultural personal identity affected your experience in tech?

I think that's something that I'm trying to learn more about myself.

Do you observe Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month If so, what do they mean to you?

It's not really AAPI Heritage Month, but as a child, I was a part of and took part in Korean celebrations of culture and heritage including festivals and other campaigns. I think like many others I've learned the importance of these cultural moments and events help us understand our the concept of belonging and identity.

Do you have a story to share about an event or person in AAPI time that has significance to you?

The most meaningful would have to be my parents and all of the other many families from the immigrant community who left themselves to seek out better opportunities elsewhere. It's quite mind-blowing consider the types of challenges facing the older generation of AAPI group. In addition, I would like to affirm that I'll never forget what an experience Linsanity was...so thank you for Jeremy Lin!

How do you get involved with the AAPI group?

I usually seek out community within the areas that I'm spending the most time. So in college I participated quite a bit with KSA (the Korean Students Association) in addition to previous places of work I've been involved in various AAPI specifically-focused ERGs.

What are the things you enjoy when you work there ?

My favorite part of working at is easily the team and people which I get to work with. I truly appreciate the welcoming and encouraging atmosphere created, and the enthusiasm that is evident in our products and customers is really inspiring to be part of.

Are there any additional details you'd like to talk about the topic with our readers on our blog?
